Thanks to the efforts of some really motivated Marines including Commandant Tom Ray Sr. and Sr Vice Commandant Owen Smith of the Cherry Point Detachment we are proud to report the Cherry Point Detachment met last evening and installed new Detachment officers.
This Detachment is now reactivated and fired up and will make a difference in the Department of North Carolina. I congratulate the efforts of Dept Jr. Vice Commandant Wally Darling and Dept DVC Ron Cooper in helping to make this happen, I also want to thank George Barrows for his assistance.
Detachment Commandant Tom Ray Sr. is looking forward to attending our upcoming Dept Quarterly meeting and meeting with many of you at the Commandant’s Council meeting on the 29th at 7PM in Greensboro. In the mean time feel free to email your congratulations to Tom and his Detachment at raybomarine@ec.rr.com I am sure he would like to hear from you.
Marines this is a great example of not leaving any Marine behind, we are proud to be Marines and Marine Corps League members and while it is important to recruit new Detachments it is certainly just as important to keep the ones we have. Again I wish to thank all those involved in this matter and I look forward to seeing you soon. Semper Fidelis,
Dennis A Brockland
Commandant
Department of North Carolina
