You just never know when you are going to run into a Marine you served with. Recently the amazement was enjoyed by three Marines in North Carolina that have been working with each other for years!

Jim Haslem, John Stafieri and Billy Cochran have known each other for several years but at the NC State convention they found out a little more about each other, they all served in the same unit at the same time. Billy asked Jim what replacement draft he was in Jim said “the 13th” Billy said “me too”, as John was sitting at the table he said “so was I”. Well Jim had one of those rare pictures from the 40s/50s with the unit “P Company, 3rd Bat, 2nd Inf Trg Reg, Tent Camp 2, Camp Pendleton California, Dated 5 November 1951.

The photo shows all of them in the same unit with John Stafieri even standing in front of Haslem! “Small Marine World” they later determined they where on the same ship, and were also snowed in together at Pickle Meadows cold weather training in the Sierra Nevada's.
