steve1 On July 16th Peter (Pete) T. Meletis one of the "Chosen Frozen" and highly respected past Commandant of the Department of North Carolina announced his intent to nominate Stephen Wilson as the next Commandant of the Marine Corps League. Peter explained in common that the time has come for us to move the League forward in respect to the ideals of all members Nationwide.

Peter adamantly recalled Steve Wilson's total dedication to the members of the League not only in management but in leadership with his total commitment to the many honorable efforts of its members. He further explained, his admiration of Steve's passion over many years as both a member and the Commandant of all management levels lay solely in getting involved with the Leagues continued efforts serving each other and their community. Meletis says: " Steve's track record as a Marine in Vietnam and as a Marine Corps League member speaks not of himself but for all that served."

I asked Steve what this position means to him and he replied: " Honor, courage and commitment. Leadership is about the members, our Marines. No one should neglect our mission or the importance of carrying on the traditions of the Marine Corps. Our members do not lay idle and neither should our leadership or the continued development of this great organization. "

The election will be held at the 87th National Convention of the Marine Corps League in Greensboro, North Carolina. www.mcl2010.org
