Table Rock Marine of the Year

Marine Corps League Table Rock Detachment 1197 of Morganton North Carolina selected George Greene Sergeant Major U.S.M.C. Retired for it's 2010 Marine of the Year Award. This award is the highest award bestowed upon a member of a Marine Corps League Detachment. George is a founding member of Detachment 1197. He was the guest of honor speaker at the Detachments first Marine Corps Birthday Ball in 2006.

George has participated in virtually all Detachment functions, including; services for fallen veterans, patriotic ceremonies, Toys for Tots and Detachment fund raisers.

Above is one of the Little League Baseball Teams sponsored by Table Rock Detachment 1197 in Morganton, North Carolina.

The Detachment currently sponsors two teams. The Marine Corps League getting involved with their community!
