May 25, 2009 Schedule of Events

9:00am Welcome of Families of Fallen Soldiers

10:00am at Gazebo: Downtown Events at the Bandstand

10:30am at I-85: Laying of wreath at Vietnam Memorial on I-85

11:45am Parade From Downtown to Cushwa Stadium via Salem Street

12:00 noon Patriotic Entertainment at Cushwa

12:15pm  Free hot dogs (as long as they last). Public may want to bring picnic lunch due to the expectations of large numbers to turn out for this event

1:15pm Parachute Jump. Jumpers will bring in special honoring plaques honoring eleven of our service men who have lost their lives in the past twelve months. Plaques provided by NC chapter of the Military Order of Purple Heart.

2:00pm Proceed to Memorial area for a short address by keynote speaker (we do not know who the speaker is).   Post Flags

2:20pm Laying of Memorial Wreath. Salute
If you plan to come and watch the parade, it's recommended that you bring a chair.
